Ed Mendez - Senior VFX Supervisor/Chief Creative Officer

Ed has been in the Visual Effects industry for more than 15 years. Ed began his career as a Compositor at Kleiser-Walczak after earning his MFA at Savannah College of Art and Design. Ed’s career quickly took off working at ESC and Café FX while taking part in such high profile projects as X-Men, Spider-Man 3, The Martrix Revolutions, Sin City and winning an Emmy Award for his work on the mini-series John Adams for HBO. Ed then became Sr. VFX Supervisor at DIVE  where he Supervised such projects as Silver Linings Playbook, The Leftovers for HBO, Power for STARZ, Public Morals for TNT and Outcast for Cinemax. Ed is the creative lead at PowerHouse and all work is scrutinized by his high bar for quality.

Bob Lowery - Executive Producer/Managing Partner

Bob has been part of the Visual Effects and Post Production industry for over 15 years working with clients from many disciplines including Feature Film, Episodic Television, Advertising and Network Promotion. His close relationships with Studios and Content Creators backed by the quality work of the PowerHouse VFX team are what allow him to help his clients be successful. Prior to launching PowerHouse, Bob co-founded BigSmack TV and was the VP of business development at DIVE .

Dan Bornstein - CG Supervisor

Before becoming CG Supervisor for PowerHouse, Dan spent 10 years at Industrial Light & Magic in San Francisco working as a sequence FX supervisor on such films as Star Wars: The Force Awakens, Rango, and, Star Wars: The Last Jedi. Dan specializes in photo-real simulations of water and destruction, as well as look development, working with content creators to turn 2D concept art into fully-realized effects with motion and character. Dan created Kylo Ren's three-bladed lightsaber in Star Wars: The Force Awakens and the massive cannon beam in Star Wars: The Last Jedi. He received his B.F.A. from New York University's Tisch School of the Arts in 2003. Since 2015, Dan has partnered with the Boston Institute of Contemporary Art’s high school media program, Fast Forward, teaching workshops in color theory and title design, and serving as a mentor to aspiring VFX artists.

Ruben Rodas - VFX Supervisor/Compositing Supervisor

Ruben and Ed have worked effectively together for many years and continue their relationship at PowerHouse. Ruben (affectionately known as Biggie) got his start at Café FX where he worked under Ed to hone his VFX chops. He is known as much for his amicable nature as he is for his abilities in complex and intricate paint reconstruction of VFX shots in films such as Seven Pounds, Alice in Wonderland, I Am Number Four, Spider-Man 3 and Pan’s Labyrinth. Some of his more recent credits include The Leftovers, Power and Split. A member of the VES, Ruben is a passionate supervisor and artist committed to his team and our client’s vision.
